1 Corinthians 12:13
The rain is touching,
with softest fingers,
the deep want of all
that is opening
to be filled.
The mist-gauze air wraps round
our gaping need
our gaping need
like the blustery trees'
scarves of new-leafed song,
our cold hearts in a colder breeze.
All morning
the loosened bouquets of rain
scattering over the bright-
green aisles
of the earth.
All morning
the loosened bouquets of rain
scattering over the bright-
green aisles
of the earth.
And oh, what music? From what lavish
realm this manna
of melody dropping
down in Your unraveling
woven love?
Oh, I love the first stanza. It is intense and there is joy in that. This is a beautiful piece. You are gifted at bringing our human burdens and struggles into the natural world and opening it all to light. Love it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy for reading and leaving beautiful and interesting comments! I tweaked it a bit since you read it. I so love the spring rain. Hope you are enjoying the amazing day!
