Come, O Creator Spirit, come,
And make within our hearts your home;
To us thy grace eternal give,
Who of your breathing move and live.
Universalis Hymn
The snow fell all night
though we drifted each in dream's deep
while the world was rearranging
the dark
into soft-white shoulders of hills
and frays of trees
into pale ghosts of artistry.
The snow fell all night
in thick, piling
design
while we in our surrender sleep,
join hands
beneath shifts of pearl-sheen
and another of His dreams
that in dawn
glistens and gleams.
Cynthia, you paint a picture so lovely and real with your words and it draws me closer to Him, the Creator of all of that which you write about. Thank you so much for all that you write.
ReplyDeleteThank you Anne! Our Creator is the amazing artist...so grateful for all His beauty....God Bless.
DeleteI can only second Anne's words. Yes. You are quite a talented "painter," Cynthia!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Nancy! Our Lord is so creative and the master painter! Enjoy all the beauty we are steeped!!! God Bless...
DeleteI love the end-rhyme. It is a comfort in the midst of cold and snow. I like, especially, the sense of family that comes from the "we in our surrendered sleep" -- this is powerful.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is tangible when the entire family is sleeping isn't it? Waking in the middle of the night, walking through the house, you can feel it. Then the layers of that.... I am so weary of the extreme cold and ice and snow right now that I wanted to find something uplifting about it once again to sooth my impatience for spring!! Not sure it worked! Again, I am thankful for your reading and generous comments Amy!!!
