Mid-Winter Thaw

For what can be known about God is perfectly plain, for God has made it plain. Ever since God created the world, God's everlasting power and deity is there for the mind to see in all the things that God has created.                  Romans 1:20

Mid-winter thaw

and the rain is becoming

a delicate music of fine ice

against the panes

and oak leaves' long-holding,

in brittle clutches, the formless sky

just beyond,

where the geese are making their racket

 in haphazard formation
through the gray

distances;

looping their wings 

through the descending

paradigms of ice.
