Holiness

Cry out with joy to God, all the earth,
   Alleluia!

                                                       All day the brevity of truth arrives
                                                       in the patched parcels of silence;

                                                       an opening prayer from the quiet
                                                       envelope of the heart;

                                                       a long slant of words folded back
                                                       into the parched volumes of the mind;

                                                       recollection a gathering of seeds
                                                       from the wildflowers of contemplation;

                                                       beauty in the loud-red tulips' alleluias
                                                       over the cloistered spires of grass.

  2. I agree with Anne. So refreshing! I love so much about this piece. I truly enjoy the metaphors here. They sweet and swift, comforting and complex. You have a deft mind and hand to bring these things to light and lay them out. Thank you!
