An Invitation

Let them praise his name with dancing
  and make music to him with timbrel and harp.
                                                Psalm 149:3

Come, whoever you are,
no matter the boulders of doubt
or dark devastation of faith;
come, with the breathless vacancies
in your heart
from what has torn
away in the desolate
canyons of loss.

Come, whoever you are
and open
to His ecstatic love
sustaining all;
come and join
this cosmic dance
of love
in these vanishing halls of time:

then in our falling
we are caught,
in our lost wanderings
we are found,
in our storm-raked ships
we become the shore,
and in dying
 we rise again.

  1. Cynthia, this is a neat piece -- evangelical! I love the title and appreciate the honesty of the first stanza, as well as the comfort the comes in the last. Blessings!
