Parable Of The Talents

To one he gave five talents, to another two, to a third one; 
each in proportion to his ability.
                                                    Matthew 25:14

                                                            A talent
                                                            buried in dirt unspent
                                                            does not 
                                                            through darkness gift uncurl
                                                            into the domain of air and 
                                                            star-fire furrows.    
                  
                                                            Heavy measure of weight
                                                            is His abyss of grace
                                                            and meant as gift                               
                                                            to give; 
                                                            is love and mercy
                                                            abounding,

                                                            that in clinging collapses 
                                                            into graven trenches of self; 
                                                            by spirit's physics
                                                            increases manifold,
                                                            by what weight is given 
                                                            of gift.
