Jack-O-Lanterns

Kingdoms of the earth, sing to God, praise the Lord.
                                                                         Universalis
                                                                                                                 Google Images

The pumpkins are plunked in happiness.
They cannot keep quiet
in all their globed orangeness.

They have been in a ruckus the long day,
while the sun slipped down
taking all its' plump, brilliant hue,

like a bright seed,
into the furrow of night,
where the end is a beginning

before the candles are lit,
and the yellow, crooked smiles
crouch bright.

  1. ha! This piece is light-hearted and brings a smile, however mischievous. Love how the orange globes of pumpkins mimic the setting sun and visa versa. Enjoy the season!
