                                                         of love
                                                           sustaining every form
                                                         we move through
                                                           as not separate

                                                         as if the melding of light
                                                           and dark

                                                         as if we are so different 
                                                           from the gold
                                                         contours
                                                           of tulip
                                                         leaves wind

                                                         over us

                                                         like lit pages
                                                           of manuscripts

                                                           the brilliance
                                                         that will remain
                                                           long after 
                                                         we are gone.

                                                           we believe
                                                         we are held
                                                           by the sapphire
