– How great are your works, O Lord.
In your wisdom you have created them all.
– How great are your works, O Lord.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
– How great are your works, O Lord.

Stepping away from talk
of Socrates
and old logic
around the fire
ring,
where night grew
like mystery
beyond the trammel
of reason,
the last length
of tree-light
burning,
where the full moon began
unleashing its' opalescence
across the still
deepening pastures
like a pale-white cantering
of dappled horses
out of a dream
to dream,
while I stood
answering
a question
with a question:
"And who are we
to receive this share
of beauty glowing
and truth’s soft-bright
leaping
over
the fences
of heaven?"
