Rejoice in the Lord, all the earth,
and serve him with joy.

God’s joy is
diffusing
the spring trees,
lacing the soft gray
silks of mist
like a dancer
enfolding
his lover’s hand,
gently
as the sky
the soft plumes
of light
green
in the moment
poised
upon their turning
and their standing
still,
upon their silence
and their song
letting go.
