Because we are all Monks and our place of work is a seminary, our work a sacrament, our family a monastery, our home a sanctuary; may we learn what they are teaching us without believing God is elsewhere...

The Mad-Eyed Monk
While wearing my spectacles and my grown son's snowboarding hat,
with ear flaps sticking out and the thick knitted top bulbous,
I was explaining to my ten year old daughter in her bed one night
not to ever forget her true identity and worth as a person.
“You are a divine child of the Lord God and don’t you ever forget it! Yep, a child of divinity!
She started giggling and said
“Mom you look ridiculous in that hat saying "divine child of God! divine child of God!"
It’s my new monk fashion for spiritual talks at bed time, at her bedside.
She is adorable.
