Faith Like Crocuses Unfurling

They have come up through the discarded
  parchment of leaves and
winter’s palettes bending low,
  blending countless chalks of cold.

They have come up delicate
  against annihilation,
yet, again they come softly
through the weight of light returning:
decaying stirring
  all that breathes
beneath.

They have come up like faith for air
and God.
