The Dance Recital

Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp.
                                                                                     Psalm 149:3

They danced in fairy light
across the azure stage-night,
gossamer ghosts,
they go gently,
gracefully against the dimming blue,
fling themselves into the air
as souls shook out in bolts of light:
wisps of Degas
hues spinning
into the blinding-bright,
where we are swept away
into You,
and our dull dust
 begins to move.

  1. Cynthia,

I am so pleased to see your poem. I've been thinking about you and missing your posts. I was going to stop by and ask how you are and then I saw your poem in my feed. Perhaps you've been taking time out to grieve. How is your mother-in-law? No doubt the past weeks have been very difficult for you all. Keeping you in my prayers. xxx

  2. Ahh....thanks Sue. So good to hear from you! Your concern touch my heart deeply!! You are a dear soul. It has been quite a summer and I have also been out of the country. My Mother-in-law is doing as well as can be expected as she and my father-in-law were best friends as well as life long mates. A lot of adjusting and redefining her life/self as a single woman but she has a strong family and lots of support and a stronger faith. I am just trying to get back to all of my friends here and to read, watch, listen to all of your wonderful art. I hope you are all well and good. I have missed you!! I'll be over to your place soon!! And again thank you for your touching comments....God Bless..
