Going Under

Come, Holy Spirit, live in us

With God the Father and the Son,

And grant us your abundant grace

To sanctify and make us one.

                                                            Dying becomes us

                                                            whoever thought

                                                            they'd stay

                                                            or were more than a wave

                                                            of particle

                                                            in His light ray.

                                                            There are countless ways 

                                                            to slip out of the clenched 

                                                            robes of self

                                                            in our mere days

                                                            and paltry hours, yet,

                                                            we live each in our separate 

                                                            shells of self

                                                            we think oceans

                                                            of blue grace,

                                                            while the kingdom

                                                            stretches out

                                                            a gathering embrace

                                                            of all we are and were

                                                            in Him, now, and before

                                                            we were born.
