O gladsome light, O grace
Of God the Father’s face,
The eternal splendour wearing;
Celestial, holy, blest,
Our Saviour Jesus Christ,
Joyful in thine appearing.

There, again,
the full moon
echoing
our star's light
from the far
slopes of morning:
its' gauzy, pearlescence
unrolling
over the shushing murmurings
of the leaves
and huddling
stalks of the fields,
while I stood, late evening,
as one among them, clenching the dark
and curling night;
the including
and reconciling
light of You,
coming from the vast
beneath,
like roots
of fire
up-heaving
this ground--
this shape
of shadow
long uncoiling
into the molten
magnificence
of You.
Fantastic. Your voice is clear and strong. It is you - through and through -- the image, the metaphor, the carefully chosen word, the integrity. Thank you for writing, for working the gift God has blessed you with! All love and light to you, Cynthia. What joy - what prayer!

ReplyDeleteThank you Daily Grace! Our Lord is breathtaking!! In so many ways. The image is Google's public domain. My photos are down right now on another disc that may have a virus so I don't want to put them on my computer. Oh well...have to keep taking more! God is so abundant with His beauty...Enjoy...
DeleteCynthia, Reading your elegant words not only retrains the ear, but the eye. Each description clarifies what the eye sees and the heart senses. Really a beautiful gift. Someone could put your works to music..It would be beautiful. +
