This
is the love I mean: not our love for God, but God’s love for us when he
sent his Son to be the sacrifice that takes our sins away.
1 John 4:10
Behold the handmaid of the Lord:
let it be done to me as you have said.
Rain-gray and budding beginning outside. The netting of green haze flung out into the spring slumbering of what is awakening and what will not rise. How the Lord casts out his luminous nets into our deep sea of self; gathering us from the currents of sleep into the opening of Him. How He climbs into our boats on the roiling water.
May we all give our “yes” like Blessed Mary giving way to God stooping down alongside us on this trail of tears and amazing grace.
May we kneel to do His will in the bending labor of our days, in whatever comes before us, in whatever season.
May we gather every shade of hope greening:
stooping to all guises of love opening.
