Holy Ground

Monday of the Third Week of Lent

God said,
“Come no closer!
Remove the sandals from your feet,
for the place on which you are standing
is holy ground.”
                                                     Exodus 3:5






May my ground be you
  Lord,
always,
  as frozen fields
to blades
  of children’s skates
scrawling over;
  as joy
ringing
  the paradigms
of snow
  shifting;
as limbs
  flapping
angels
  against the ice.
