Guide us so to use the good things of this world,
that even now we may hold fast to what endures for ever.
Universalis Prayer
It was in the moment’s bright space
Your glory
Shot
Through,
Flecked with
Mercy
In the dryness
Of my hour
And the duties of the day,
While on the porch, peeling back
Husks from the lush
Orbs of corn,
And what the summer days
Tucked in
Designs of rows
And buttery light,
Long hidden,
Now sparkling
Their kinship
With the sun and rain
And the dark descent of roots
Below the seasons
Bearing strands
Of silk
And gold speckled
With pearls
I now hold
On the palms
Of these old
Hands,
More than beauty's brief yeild,
More than beauty's brief yeild,
The enduring
Gift
Of joy
From You.
I absolutely love what you're seeing these days, Cynthia. What a blessing it is to see more what God sees, to see deeper with God's eyes than our own. All Joy to you, my dear!
