heal me, Lord, for my bones are in disarray.
My spirit is deeply disturbed,
and you, Lord – how long?
Psalm 6
it is the time of day
when the light
lays down
its' long oars
of deep grays
onto the planks
of the earth
and I must
begin to see
as through dark
water
the starlight floating
across the surface
of nothingness
or the moon
coming over the waves of the hills
and hushed congregations of the leaves
like a prayer
into the gathering
fear
or the wisdom
to step out
from my small boat
onto the roiling
terror
of faith
it is the time of day
fear
or the wisdom
to step out
from my small boat
onto the roiling
terror
of faith
it is the time of day
to turn and pray
like night into
dawn
like a cry
into song.
In my humble opinion, perfection. I read it and then scrolled up and down the page several times, watching words roll, roll, roll, roll, roll. In my humble opinion, inspired.
ReplyDeleteThank you Nancy...I am humbled by your very respected opinion! If only anxiety wouldn't crowd us so. So thankful for prayer....God Bless
ReplyDeleteStarlight, Moon, Wisdom, Prayer - it seems we have to nudge ourselves to look up and look out and realize the world is bigger than us; and then we have to remember to look in and seek the Spirit's wisdom, to look inside and remember to pray. And thank God, God is bigger than us!
ReplyDeleteSo thankful He is. Thanks for the insights and reply...we are so small, truly and yet our lovely Lord died for us. Amazing Grace!
