Love Blinding

Almighty, ever-living God,

  shed the light of your glory

  on the peoples who are living in the shadow of death,

as you did long ago,

  when our Lord Jesus Christ, the Sun of Justice,

  came among us from on high

What becomes here

passes 

like clouds 

in the clutches

of breezes,

flaring the volumes 

of colors 

turning into leaves

that are just beginning 

to close

their pages of light

into the buckling grasses

and dark kneeling 

of the fields:

into the ground

of Your being

sizzling

through 

the sigh of our brief 

breathing

within these shifting clefts

of diminishment,

You pass by,

love

blinding

as You go.
